Biweekly ! Bi-weekly Mortgage Information
The American Economy: Past, Present and Future

The biweekly mortgage was introduced to the United States from Canada where it is the predominant method of mortgaging. There are many reasons why this program makes sense for Americans as well:

  • The reduction of a long term debt. Many Americans in their mid-forties hold thirty-year mortgages. This means that they may still be making payments well into their seventies. That can put a damper on retirement plans!
  • Social Security. This same generation may never benefit from this troubled system.
  • Inadequate retirement funds. Many Americans don't have sufficient retirement funds... if they have them at all.
  • Your home is an investment. The single investment made by most Americans, once guaranteeing a large residual for retirement, was their home. Due to instability in the real estate market, the only guarantee we now have is that we still have a mortgage to pay. The way to gain equity in your property is through prepayment.
  • Saving for your future. Although we have good intentions of saving for the future, the ever-increasing cost of living often prohibits us from attaining our goals. Building additional equity in your home results in real savings.
Financial planning is not a strength held by most Americans. The average retiree is living on less than $200 a week! But we can change our way of thinking. The Equity Savings Program offers a simple and effective way to plan for our future without the pain normally associated with change.
